Since golf carts are generally operated on private property, no driver's license is required. However, we recommend that golf carts only be entrusted to persons over the age of 18. Operating a golf cart requires the necessary caution and responsible behavior. We would also be happy to advise you on golf carts with road approval in accordance with the StVZO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). To operate a golf cart with road approval in public traffic, a valid Class B driver's license is required.

The maximum speed of a golf cart varies depending on the model and manufacturer. In general, the maximum speeds of golf carts range between 15 and 31 km/h. This speed limit was set for safety reasons.

Driving a golf cart is easy and relaxing, but of course you may only operate a cart if you are fit to drive, and as with driving a car, safety comes first. We have created a handling video for the safe use of a cart – please watch it before you start driving!

Safety instructions for driving a golf cart

Battery life depends on the type of battery – and how you use the vehicle.

Golf carts can be equipped with different battery types:

• Lead-acid batteries (classic, require maintenance)
• AGM or AES batteries (low-maintenance)
• Lithium batteries (long-lasting and highly efficient)

Instead of measuring lifespan in years, battery life is measured in charging cycles – how many times the battery is fully charged and discharged.

Several factors affect a battery’s daily range, including:

• Speed
• Temperature
• Load
• Driving style

In real-world use: One full charge usually provides enough range for a full day – even with varied usage.

Charging time depends on the battery type and charger used:

• Lead-acid batteries: approx. 6–10 hours
• AGM/AES batteries: approx. 6–8 hours
• Lithium batteries: approx. 2–4 hours (with fast charger)

Tip: Charge the cart overnight so it’s ready to go the next day.
